			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Several times throughout the past year I have thought that the proposed health care bill would not pass or would be dropped because of opposition from constituents. I was wrong. <strong>The Democrats have been surprisingly stubborn and arrogant</strong>. Last night, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) twisted arms, negotiated, and threatened other Democratic representatives into voting for the Senate bill. It will now be sent to the President for signature. Once it is signed, the Senate must debate the reconciliation for at least 20 hours. It is during this period of debate, that the Republicans in the Senate can add amendments that might affect the outcome. However, I am not hopeful at this point. I think that this insane legislation will be the law of the land until it gets overturned on constitutional grounds.</p>
<p>For the first time in the history of the United States, the Federal government will mandate that we buy a service or be fined. Crazier than this mandate is the enforcement associated with it. If you or your employer do not comply, you will be fined. The government will also grant the IRS more powers. They will be the enforcement arm of this law. <strong>It is outrageous!</strong> We are taking the tax collectors and giving them police powers over the purchase of health insurance.</p>
<p>The immediate impact of this legislation is that taxes will go up. Employees will see less money in their paychecks for several years before seeing any return on their money. Employers will have to offer health insurance to employees including part timers. This will mean that it will not be cost effective to hire more employees and will lead to lower salaries for existing positions. The cost for this mandate has to be covered somehow and I guarantee it will be covered through higher prices to customers, less employment and/or lower salaries. It could also lead to more off-shoring of service jobs like telemarketing.</p>
<p>I know of one business that could be pushed into bankruptcy by this legislation because of the low margins associated with the business and the business’ need for dozens of part time employees to function. It sickens me to think that someone’s hard work at building a business and providing employment to many needy part time employees could all be wiped out by a Socialist and <strong>arrogant President</strong> and his zombies in Congress.&#160; </p>
<p>I am hopeful that several Attorney Generals will file lawsuits on the lack of constitutional basis for this legislation. However, it will take years for the lawsuits to get through the courts and, by then, the damage will have been done to many small businesses. <strong>Shame on the Democrats! </strong>Most of the lawmakers who pushed this through have not started a business, hired employees or struggled to make a payroll. That is why this arrogant group of do-nothing <strong>shit heads</strong> have passed this health care bill. (Yes, I realize it is the first time that I have cursed on this blog, but I think the circumstances merit it.)</p>
<p>It is now our turn. During the next election let’s vote every Democrat that is in office out. We need to tell them who is boss and they need to pay a heavy price. Losing a few seats is not enough. Losing every seat is not enough. I hope Democrats lose power forever. They want to take this country in a liberal and socialist path. That path is not what we the American people want or what made this country powerful and great. Do not forget this injustice. <strong>Vote all the bastards out!</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I sent an e-mail to a friend in Greece asking him for clarification on what is happening there. I wanted a first hand perspective since we do not get much detail in the news media here. We are so saturated with news about House Speaker Pelosi’s (D-CA) health care machinations that we know nothing about the rest of the world. The following is what he had to say about the problems there:</p>
<blockquote><p>Yes, it is true that in Greece we have a serious financial problem. You see the last few decades (starting from Andreas Papadreou in 1980&#8217;s) , Greek governments started getting loans, they hired lots of people on the public sector, although there was no need for so many people and they did not make the changes required to make the Greek economy more competitive. As a result, after about 30 years, we have a huge debt, we have lots of employees in the public sector and we have huge loans to pay back. In a sense the country has already bankrupted. On the contrary, in the private sector things are different, but the whole bad situation affects the private sector. In the private sector, salaries are not high (in several cases, the salaries are lower that the corresponding salaries of the public sector), people work lots of hours (in the public sector, people work less hours and are by far less productive), there is no job safety (in the public sector, there is a law that public employees can not be fired no matter what!) and there are lots of cuts on the benefits. As a result, the situation is not that good. There is lots of unemployment and things seems that will get worst. But we hope for the best. I hope and I believe that eventually we will recover and we will make it. But it won&#8217;t be easy and the current government has already started making changes, putting new taxes, but also cutting money from the lazy bastards of the public sector&#8230;it was about time! Nevertheless, all these changes and taxes have triggered &quot;angry protests&quot;, as you said.</p>
</blockquote>
<p><font color="#505050">Does this sound eerily similar to the situation in the United States right now? It does and that is what makes it so scary. We need to change course, spend less and the people in power (Democrats) need to realize that living within our means will ensure a future for the country. Spending frivolously and passing expensive legislation that the people do not want or need is a path to bankruptcy. Vote the spenders out.</font></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Early in his first term, President Bill Clinton created a commission headed by Hillary Clinton to overhaul health care in the United States. He met fierce opposition. Since he was a wise and crafty politician, he backed off and pursued other matters. As a result, he was reelected to a second term and is remembered fondly by Democrats and even some Republicans. (At the time, I disliked Bill Clinton, but he has grown on me. He has become very respectable as a senior statesman. His image is enhanced, by the contrast between him and the ridiculous Jimmy Carter.)</p>
<p>If you compare Bill Clinton to President Barack Hussein Obama, you realize that you are dealing with a less crafty politician. Obama is more of an ideologue than Bill Clinton ever was. He is also stubborn and portrays an image of smug superiority that I find appalling. I believe that Obama genuinely thinks that his ideas and plans are better than anyone else’s and that they should be pursued and implemented regardless of what others think or feel about it. To me, that sounds like a classic dictator and not a United States President. (Now you know why I included his middle name in the first sentence.)</p>
<p>I am hoping that moderate Democrats in the House and Senate realize that the populace does not want bigger government. It does not want a government that runs health care and it absolutely does not want another trillion dollars of deficit spending. I hope that there is a lesson learned from the elections in Virginia and New Jersey where Republicans trounced Democrats. </p>
<p>Americans are angry and are demonstrating that anger. Just look at this video of the march on Washington, D.C.:</p>

<p>If Democrats and particularly Obama, Pelosi and Reid do not back off, in 2010 they will face the most devastating elections that the Democratic party has ever seen. Then in 2012, Obama will also lose his job. That is almost guaranteed.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Democrats were trounced in New Jersey and Virginia, but still have not learned their lesson. Led by Congressman Pelosi (D-CA) and President Obama, the Democrats are poised to arrogantly push through a health care bill that no one wants and is not needed.</p>
<p>House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) spoke to a group of thousands who are opposed to the government takeover of health care. The speech was given near the Capitol building. Here is video of Boehner’s inspirational and impassioned speech:</p>

<p>The fact that the Democrats are still trying to unilaterally push through something that is so controversial and unnecessary when so many people are hurting and need jobs is really astounding. It is the triumph of ideology over practical government. What intelligent American really believes we need a new way for the government to spend over a trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000)? That is over $3,000 per person in this country in new deficit spending. If they are going to borrow a trillion dollars from the Chinese and make us more beholden to China’s interests, then I’d rather take my $3,000 multiplied by the number of people in my house and continue buying my own health insurance.</p>

Health care reform and the takeover of more businesses in this country are now over.</p>
<p>Are you listening President Obama? <strong><em>Give us the change that we need and let us keep the change that we have in our pockets.</em></strong> Concentrate on jobs and growth and scale back your socialist agenda. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The House of Representatives voted 246-153 along mostly party lines today to defeat a Republican resolution that would have removed Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) from the chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee. This is the committee that writes tax laws. Representative Rangel has been under investigation by a congressional ethics committee for over a year for tax evasion on investment income, and not disclosing ownership of real estate assets and income in addition to his pay as a representative.&#160; How special is that? Rangel can lie and cheat, but we all have to pay taxes that his committee creates to fund the outrages government spending spree. </p>
<p>If it were not so sad, it would be ridiculously hilarious. The Democrats are trying to cover up for one of their own. They see nothing wrong with having an alleged tax cheat be in charge of writing tax law. Wow, I want in on this game. Maybe I’ll run for a House seat.</p>
<p>Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had promised to clean up the House of Representatives and not allow any misconduct. This is an example of yet another broken promise by the Democrats.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Fourth of July is a special day for Americans. We celebrate our independence from tyranny and from a foreign power that was taxing us from afar without representation. On this day in 1776, the forefathers of this country unequivocally declared that we would no longer put up with England’s abuse and control.</p>
<p>This national birthday party makes me wonder if we are at a similar state in our nation in which a new declaration of independence is needed. We are again being taxed from afar and we are experiencing tyranny in the takeover of the economy by Democrat politicians in Washington, DC.</p>
<p>Words taken directly from the Declaration of Independence seem very relevant in today’s environment (emphasis added):</p>
<blockquote><p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. <em><strong>That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.</strong></em> <em><strong>That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government</strong></em>, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.</p></blockquote>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">Our government is far exceeding the powers that we have consented to giving it. I have yet to meet anyone who likes the government taking over the banks, the car companies and more recently the plan to take over the health care system. Even the least economically savvy among us understands that you cannot spend over a trillion dollars that do not exist without bankrupting the country. We also understand that the future of the country is under foreign control because of this unthinkable debt. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">It is time for us to force our “leaders” to back off from their destructive path and reevaluate the priorities of government. We cannot afford to allow a group of ideologues to destroy what has taken 233 years to build. What makes President Obama think that he can successfully run Chrysler when some of the best business minds from two continents have repeatedly failed? The business leaders of Daimler-Benz failed, so did the bright minds at Cerberus who purchased Chrysler from Daimler. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">Rather than taking over the company, allowing the free market to work would have been a better way to go. Chrysler would have been forced into bankruptcy on its own and maybe smaller, nimbler companies would have emerged that created new cars with better technology. These smaller companies could have created a better, stronger car industry. Now, we will never know.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">We do have some history that we can look at. When AT&amp;T was forced into breaking up because of antitrust concerns, the so called “baby bells” became profitable and creative businesses that introduced new services, new phones and ultimately led to ubiquitous wireless service and high speed Internet access. The only improvement in phone technology that AT&amp;T had introduced prior to that was the “Princess” phone line with touch tone dialing. You could not even own your phone or buy one in a store, they were leased and part of your monthly service fee. AT&amp;T was forced by the government into breaking up—something that is quite different from the government taking the company over and making executive decisions. If that had taken place, we would probably be using rotary dial phones to this day.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">Another quote from the Declaration of Independence is very appropriate for these times. Here it is:</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #505050;">If you replace “the present King of Great Britain” with “President Obama” you get a phrase that accurately reflects our current state of government. A cabal of liberal Democrats is using the current economic malaise to push through changes to our government that would centralize control of the economy in Washington, DC. Think about it, what is missing from this takeover? If you take over the largest manufacturers, the largest banks and the health care system then we are living in a Socialist or Communist state where there is total government control. Health care, by itself, represents 15.2% of GDP.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #505050;">I am <strong>very</strong> afraid by the changes that President Obama, Pelosi and others are making to this country. We need a new Declaration of Independence and a new political future. </span></p>

<p>Pelosi is obviously confused. She has even fabricated a theological defense for her position saying, &#8220;&#8230;I don&#8217;t think anybody can tell you when life begins. As I say, the Catholic Church for centuries has been discussing this, and there are those who&#8217;ve decided&#8230;&#8221; When confronted with the fact that the Catholic Church is unequivocal on the issue she finally conceded, &#8221;I understand that.&#8221; Unfortunately, she continued her prevarication.</p>
<p>The meeting between her and the Pope was private and no details were disclosed. Let&#8217;s hope the Pope told her to stop being such a hypocrite or face excommunication.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When I was growing up there was a quaint and often repeated joke about the three rings of life. It went like this: first there is the engagement ring, then the wedding ring and, finally, the suffering. Since it was usually a young man uttering this joke, you could argue that it was a bit misogynist. The current political situation is similar in that we end up with suffering, but without the misogyny.</p>
<p>If Senator Obama wins the presidency, we will have established two rings of hell and we will be well on our way to an inferno that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Divine_Comedy" target="_blank">Dante</a> could never have imagined. The first ring will be a Congress that is dominated by liberal Democrats and run by Senator Harry Reid and Representative Nancy Pelosi. As if this were not hell enough, we will also have an <strong>ultra-liberal president</strong> who wants to redistribute our income and change the entire country to more liberal, secular views. Now for the third ring&#8211;the one that will bring on the suffering. That ring, the Supreme Court, is the last viable check and balance against Democrat hegemony. </p>
<p>Obama will be able to appoint two or three Supreme Court justices in his first term. Even worse than that, he could get to appoint two more by the end of a second term. That is five Supreme Court justices that he could appoint with no opposition from Congress. He could appoint the most liberal judges that he can find and establish liberal control of the Supreme Court for decades. Who knows what could happen then? Perhaps infanticide and assisted suicide would become the <strong>uncontested</strong> law of the land. Keep in mind that five Supreme Court justices would constitute a majority.</p>
<p>Liberal control of the Supreme Court could shape our society more than any other branch of government. The justices do not need to be reelected and are installed for life. They can do whatever they want. If you do not believe it, then go back to January 22, 1973 when the Supreme Court made it legal to have abortions with the Roe vs. Wade decision. It is estimated that over 50 million children have been killed because of that decision. It is reasonable to estimate that if these children had been born, at least 1% would be geniuses or high achievers. Think about how much more advanced the United States would be with an additional 500,000 intelligent, high achievers. What a waste of human potential and loss of human advancement.</p>
<p>If you are angered by the idea of homosexual marriage, the removal of any mention of religion from our school systems, the removal of &#8220;In God We Trust,&#8221; and the promotion of other liberal causes, then you should be very concerned about an Obama victory. An Obama presidency will guarantee liberal control of the country for the foreseeable future. It is an incredible inferno full of suffering for all and justice for none.</p>
<p>If you are not interested in social issues or religious issues, but instead are worried about your bottom line, then consider a president who wants you to &#8220;share the wealth&#8221; coupled with a Congress that also wants to tax you into the ground and then couple that with a liberal and activist Supreme Court and what do you have? You end up with a socialist country modeled after many of the countries in the European Union. Is that the path that the United States should take or should it continue to create a path that other countries envy and want to emulate?</p>
<p>What country is feared, envied and respected at the same time? What country has established an empire greater than has ever been seen on the face of the planet before? What country has achieved this sort of global domination in history? Only the United States has done this. Why throw it away to pursue a political and social theory that has been proven a failure repeatedly?</p>
<p><strong>You know</strong> the answers to these questions. There is no reason to abandon our supremacy, or to change our way of life. I have written it before in this site, but here it is again, &#8220;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drink_the_Kool_Aid#.22Drinking_the_Kool-Aid.22" target="_blank">Don&#8217;t drink the Kool-Aid</a>.&#8221; We do not need a liberal, inexperienced president or Supreme Court. Let&#8217;s stay away from the suffering, vote intelligently and vote often (the often is just to offset Acorn).</p>
<p><em>Vote McCain-Palin on September 4th and donate to </em><a href="http://nationalrepublicantrust.com/" target="_blank"><em>The National Republican Trust</em></a><em> so that they can air anti-Obama ads.</em></p>
