There are people who disagree with the Democratic party, but feel uncomfortable about a site called “Democrats SUCK.” I have many contacts that feel that the name is not professional or that it bashes the party unnecessarily. I disagree. I think it is important to use a name that will grab attention and readership and get people to think about all the ways that the country is going the wrong way.

Writing or reading a blog like this is meaningless without action. I have voted in every election since I was 18. I believe that we have to vote all the rascals out and limit the amount of damage they can do.

I am a Republican because Republicans are closer to my views. However, Republicans are hardly perfect.

The name of this site should not disturb moderates, it would not get as much traffic if it was called, "democrats-arent-nice.com." Just for the record, I tried to purchase "republicanssuck.com" and the person who owned it would not sell it to me because he feared I would simply keep it under wraps. If I owned that domain name, I can assure you that there would be entries on that site too. I try to build related sites with related names to enhance the branding. For example, I own yourviewssuck.com, but have not put any content there yet.

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that it is more moderate than the name might imply. I want responsible government that responds to the will of the people. What a concept! That is the concept that this country was founded on.

I am thrilled that so many people are becoming more active in determining the future course of the United States.

Yesterday, Senate Republicans offered 29 amendments to the health care bill that was passed by the House of Representatives. Many of these were designed to slow down the law or prevent it from being passed on a second vote in the House. At least one of these is just common sense. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) offered an amendment that would bar federal purchases of Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs for sex offenders. The senator claims that it is not only the right thing to do, but that it could also save millions of dollars.

Guess what the Democrats did with this amendment? They defeated it in a 57-42 vote. That vote shows you how hell bent they are about not letting anything get in the way of their precious takeover of health care in this country. I think it is an embarrassment before the eyes of the world that this amendment was not passed. The lives of children and innocent women are at stake.

If this humble site is any indication of the disdain that the American people have for the Democrats, President Obama and the new health care colossus, the electorate is angry indeed. On Saturday, my site received 50% more visitors than normal. This was indicative of the anger leading up to the storm.

Sunday, the day of the health care vote in the House of Representatives, the site received 400% more visits than is normal. Most of these visits came during and after the vote. Here are the leading keywords that were used on Sunday (in order):

democrats suck

democrates suck

why democrats suck

obamacare sucks

this sucks, health care passed

rascism

democrats suck ass

democrtas suck

demacrate suck

obama care sucks

obama healthcare sucks

george w bush democrat majority in the senate

dems suck

democracts suck

demecrates suck

brian williams sucks

Besides the fact that even misspellings are bringing visitors to the site, it is important to note the underlying theme that Democrats and Obamacare suck. As a side note, I think that George W. Bush is getting some blame for the Democrat majority that passed this legislation. I thought it was also funny that NBC anchorman Brian Williams was also thrown into the mix.

Monday, this site had even more explosive growth. The number of visits grew by 600%. The keywords were similar. Here they are in order of use:

democrats suck

obamacare sucks

democrates suck

democratssuck.com

speech on why democrats suck

"cash for clunkers" healthcare

democrat suck

we-are-screwed.com

obama suck

house of representatives suck

who thinks democrats suck

democraats suck

dems suck

health care bill passed democrats suck

white democrats suck

why the democrats suck

liberals suck quotes

democrats suck go to hell!!

rahm emanuel sucks

My favorite is “rahm emanuel sucks.” The “we-are-screwed.com” one is interesting in that it takes you to that domain which is redirected to democratssuck.com. I do not own or control that domain, so whoever is doing that, “Thanks!”

More importantly, the rise in visits and the keywords indicate the discontent that we feel. Obama and the Democrats can congratulate themselves until November. That is when we show them who is boss.

We need to vote in November and let the Democrats understand that power in this country comes from the people and it can be taken away by the people. The myopic vision of the Democrats is leading us and them to ruin.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid (NV) apologized today for some racist statements he made during the 2008 elections. He is quoted in a new book as saying that Barack Obama could win the presidency because he was “light-skinned” and did not use a “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Although Reid apologized to President Obama, who gracefully accepted the apology, this incident shows the double standard that liberals have. If a Democrat says something that is rascist and harkens back to the 50s, it is alright. If a Republican says something that is offensive in even a minor way they immediately call for a resignation.

President Obama said of the incident, “I accepted Harry’s apology without question because I’ve known him for years, I’ve seen the passionate leadership he’s shown on issues of social justice, and I know what’s in his heart.” Maybe he should have instead used it as an opportunity to discuss the fact that further progress needs to be made. He should also have called for Reid’s resignation.

President Obama ran for president with a pledge of transparency in government. He claimed that everything in his administration would be open for public inspection and discussion. It is obvious now that his campaign pledge was complete prevarication. I have never experienced a more secret government in the United States.

The health care debacle has been drafted secretly, has been negotiated in private White House meetings amongst Democrats with no input from Republicans. If this is transparent government, then I’d hate to experience anything that is less so.

This is not a president of the people, but instead a president of the Democratic special interest groups. He has not lead this country towards reconciliation and bipartisanship, but instead to a time of more distrust and less cohesiveness.

Obama’s desire to pass a health care bill at all costs has led to Senators being bribed for their votes. Senator Nelson (D-NB) was offered to have all Medicaid payments covered by the federal government. This is normally a shared responsibility between the state and federal government. It is hard to see how this could be constitutional or how some other state would not sue over the issue. If one state is offered a deal like this, then all should be offered the same deal.

We need a new party in this country, or at the very least we need to boot out all the Democrats. It is perhaps the only way that they will learn that their arrogance does not pay.

New Jersey voters have a bad habit of electing Democrats for governor and then complaining about the tax increases, deficits, lack of service and corruption. Governor Corzine is the latest example of a Democrat who has done nothing for the state.

The election of President Obama, his stubborn refusal to back off on health care and Corzine’s lack of leadership in the state are all creating the perfect environment for NJ residents to get Republican leadership for a change.

Lincoln Park, a small town in Morris County, recently had an all day event with street vendors and some simple entertainment—like dunking police officers by throwing a baseball at a target. What I found most entertaining was a table for the Lincoln Park Democrats. The photo to the left shows a lonely person at the table. He had no customers for various Corzine/Weinberg stickers, posters and other political junk.

Eleven minutes later, the same table still had not customers. The picture below shows a bored Democrat staring morosely at the photographer while another one sits and eats junk food.

If this Corzine/Weinberg campaign table is any indication, then challenger Chris Christie has a chance at being elected governor in one of the northeast’s consistently blue states. If you want to help, you can go to his web site here. If you are undecided on whether to help his campaign, you might also want to read the 88 ways that Chris Christie will fix NJ.

The FBI has arrested 44 people and accused them of fraud, accepting bribes, trafficking in human organs, money laundering and other nefarious activities. Among those arrested were prominent rabbis with plush homes in Deal, NJ.

The most disturbing aspect of the arrests was that several New Jersey elected officials were arrested, cuffed and charged with accepting bribes. These were:

Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano III (D),
Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell (D),
Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez (D),
Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini (D),
State Assemblymen Harvey Smith (D) and
State Assemblymen Daniel Van Pelt (D).

I was not surprised that they are all Democrats. Shameless Democratic corruption is commonplace in New Jersey. It is costing tax payers plenty. NJ taxes are among the highest in the nation. Property taxes are so high that they are steadily becoming a larger component of monthly expenses than the mortgage loan payments on homes. For example, it is not uncommon to pay ten to twenty thousand dollars a year for property taxes in a house that would pay ten percent of that amount in another state. New Jersey residents are taxed to death so that their representatives can sell them out to the highest bribe. It is sad and it proves that Democrats suck.

In addition to these arrests, the State Consumer Affairs Director, Joseph Doria (D) had his house searched. He has resigned from his post at Governor Corzine’s (D) request. Mr. Doria was a mayor of Bayonne and spent almost three decades in the state legislature before getting the job he is vacating from his buddy Corzine.

New Jersey, it is time to vote these incompetents and alleged criminals out of office. Please vote for Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie.

(More reporting is available from NJ.com and the New York Times. Pay attention to the fact that they either omit or soft-pedal the fact these elected officials are Democrats.)

The Democrats know that they have the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court in the bank. The Republicans know this as well since they do not have enough votes to do anything about it. However, I am disgusted by the lack of tough questions on the issues. We’ve heard much about her “wise Latina” remarks, but what about all the other real issues. What about abortion, same-sex marriage, state’s rights, immigration, gun control, eminent domain, wiretapping of citizens, illegal combatants, separation of church and state and national ID cards. Where does she stand on these?

I am angry that Republicans do not know how to play the game as well as Democrats. Democrats have mastered the skill of painting any qualified Republican nominee to the Supreme Court as too right wing—almost worse than Attila the Hun. Republicans, however, are afraid of going after an unqualified Hispanic woman who recently had one of her cases overturned by the same court that she wants to serve on. I think it is time to forget whether someone is black, white, pink, male or female or whatever other classification you want to give someone and judge them on their merits. Is this too much to ask?

If we called Judge Sonia Sotomayor, nominee “Y” and only allowed nominee “Y” to answer from behind a wall with a computer to distort the voice would everyone be comfortable with nominee “Y”’s record? Would there be serious questions as to whether the nominee was judicially sound and impartial? That is the real question that the nomination process should try to answer.

I have been very quiet on this nomination because I wanted to give the process and Judge Sotomayor a chance to explain herself as well. So far, all I have seen are token questions and evasive answers. The toughest line of questioning was from Senator Cornyn today and even his questions were sugar coated and seemed timid by Democrat standards.

The Democrats would have fifty (or more) special interest groups actively campaigning against a Republican nominee and would badger the nominee to the point where the nominee would want to say “No more. I give up.” I do not like it when Democrats do this, but at least they are fighting the fight that their constituents voted them in to do. I expect the Republicans to do the same. The future of this great country is at stake.

Senator John McCain has shown leadership throughout his entire life. He did so in service to the country in Vietnam. He has done so in Congress and he continues to do so during this campaign. Unlike Senator Obama, he stepped forward at great risk to his campaign and temporarily canceled it to go to Washington and help with the fiscal mess that Democrats have created.

The current fiscal crisis was precipitated by Democrats who were taking campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Three of the top recipients of contributions in the last ten years were Senator Dodd, Senator Barney Frank and Senator Barack Obama. Senator Obama makes this list in spite of his being in the Senate for only three of the ten years.

For years, Senator McCain has been trying to tell fellow Senators and the American public that the system was in need of reform. In January 26, 2005, he sponsored a bill called, “Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005.” In it, he called for the reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. There were three other co-sponsors to the bill and they were all Republicans.

Senator Charles Hagel (R, NE)
Senator Elizabeth Dole (R, NC)
Senator John Sununu (R, NH)

This bill was shot down by the Senate.

America needs a leader who can tell us the truth, who acts on it, and most importantly who cares about the country–not an ambitious and expeditious upstart who thinks he has the answers.

Senator Obama’s campaign is to run against another George Bush term. Senator McCain is not President Bush. It just shows that Obama has nothing to offer except politics as usual. The only change is that he is by far the slickest Democrat on the national scene. Do not be fooled. Vote for real leadership.
