Representative Eric Massa (D-NY) who resigned yesterday amid sexual harassment charges brought by a male staffer spoke on WKPQ radio on March 7, 2010. This is what he had to say, “Rahm Emanuel is the son of the devil’s spawn. He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive. And if he doesn’t like that he can come after me personally…” Then he added, “I was a congressman in my first eight weeks, and I was in the congressional gym, and I went down and worked out. I went down into the showers. Which, by the way, I for the life of me can’t figure out why they took all the shower curtains off the shower stalls in the congressional showers. The last thing I want to do is look at all my colleagues naked, but they don’t have any shower curtains in the gym. And I’m sitting there showering, naked as a jaybird and here comes Rahm Emanuel not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me because I wasn’t going to vote for the president’s budget. Do you know how awkward it is to have a political argument with a naked man? By the way, what the heck is he doing in the congressional gym? He goes there to intimidate members of congress.”

All I can say is wow! What is going on here when a democratic member of congress is intimidated by the president’s chief of staff in the nude? Eric Massa is claiming that he was targeted for not voting for the health insurance plan. Maybe the truth will come out in the near future. We the people deserve to know.

New York Representative Eric Massa (D-NY) resigned today amid charges that he made a male staffer uncomfortable in a verbal exchange. The verbal exchange reportedly had sexual overtones. This is what he had to say about it today, "There is no doubt in my mind that I did in fact, use language in the privacy of my own home and in my inner office that, after 24 years in the Navy, might make a Chief Petty Officer feel uncomfortable."

I think this speaks for itself. One of the supposed champions of political correctness struck down by his own inappropriate exchange. One down 253 more Democrats to go before the House of Representatives really represents the United States of America.

Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) took a leave of absence today from his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee which is charged with writing tax laws. Representative Rangel is under investigation for several ethics violations. He has accepted corporate-paid trips to the Caribbean, improperly raised money from his office for the Rangel Center for Public Service at City College of New York and failed to disclose rental income from an apartment in the Dominican Republic. The last act is particularly galling considering that Democrats always want to raise taxes. I guess additional taxation is alright for the little people, but not for high and mighty Rangel.

Another New York ethics scandal is being exposed today as well. Governor David A. Paterson (D-NY) is accused of interfering with a domestic violence case filed against his aide, David Johnson. According to news reports, Paterson called the alleged victim on February 7th. The next day, the victim did not show up in court and a judge dismissed the case. The governor’s call came after State Troopers assigned to his security detail called the alleged victim several times in an effort to get her to drop the charges. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is now investigating the case. I’m sure he would like to know what the governor said in that call.

The New York State Commission on Public Integrity also has charged Governor Paterson with violating ethic laws by obtaining free tickets to the opening game of the World Series from the New York Yankees. This is a violation of the state’s ban on gifts to public officials. So far, Governor Paterson is refusing to step down from his post.

Let’s give these two Democratic leaders a cheer—a Bronx cheer that is.

This books provides an inside view of the 2008 presidential campaign and all its personalities. If more than half of what is in the book is true, it is extraordinarily damning of the people involved in 2008. We should have all pulled a lever labeled, “None of the above.” All the candidates who ran for the nomination and presidency from both parties are portrayed as megalomaniacs, bumbling fools or disorganized big mouths and hypocrites. How sad for this country.

My reading of the book makes me feel that it is historically accurate. My only reservation is that the authors may be closet Obama liberals. I do not know enough about their backgrounds to make a definitive statement. What I do know is from the inside flap of the book which says that John Heilemann is the national political correspondent and columnist for New York magazine and that he has written for The New Yorker, Wired and The Economist. Mark Halperin is editor-at-large and senior political analyst for Time magazine and also worked for ten years as the political director for ABC News. Their resumes do not exactly give me a feeling of conservative leanings.

The book is well written and is extremely interesting. I had to force myself to put it down and do other things. Because of this, I would recommend the book. My favorite quote from the book is from then Senator Hillary Clinton on March 3, 2008: “I have a lifetime of experience I will bring to the White House. Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he made in 2002.”

Here we are a year and a month into President Obama’s presidency and he has accomplished nothing and is still clinging to health care reform as if everyone wants it. The so called, “Health Care Summit” that took place a few days ago was bad political theater. The president either came prepared with Machiavellian lines to throw at the Republicans or improvised arrogantly. Which is worse is up to you to decide. Here is an exchange between a respectful Senator McCain (R-AZ) and a very disrespectful President Obama:

McCain: Remove all the special deals for the special interests and favored few and threat all Americans the same under provisions of the law so that they will know that geography does not dictate what kind of health care they would receive. I thank you Mr. President.

Obama: Let me just make this point, John, because we are not campaigning anymore, the election is over.

McCain: I’m reminded of that every day. (nervous laughter from McCain)

Obama: Well, yeah, uh. So, the uh. We can spend the remainder of the time with our respective talking points going back and forth. We were supposed to be talking about insurance.

Let me ask you, is this the “hope and change” and bipartisanship that Obama pledged?

You can download the audio file here.

President Obama is considering submitting a $3.8 trillion budget on February 1st that exempts programs for women and girls from the spending freeze he proposed a few days ago. This is payback to women for voting for him and, more importantly, is also a way to appease women’s groups. Many of these groups are upset with Democrats because of the proposed restrictions on government paid abortion coverage in the health care bills.

This shows once again how little conviction the President has. Days after announcing a spending freeze to help with the budget deficit, he makes exceptions for his favorite voting block. It also proves that the little he tries to do always has a political calculus. He has had a completely unsuccessful first year and is well on his way to another one.

Republicans are exited about their prospects for 2010. However, I’m praying for 2012 to get here faster before President Obama completely destroys the country.

The worst thing about the arrogant leftists in this country is that they absolutely cannot handle a difference of opinion or a loss at the hands of the people. Why should they? They, of course, know better.

The following video shows one nut case that happens to have a television show on the very fair and balanced MSNBC (I’m am oozing sarcasm, of course.):

It is time that MSNBC gave psychological exams to people that it puts on the air. The ownership at MSNBC should also examine why someone is allowed to call a Senator-elect a tea-bagger among other offensive remarks. It is unprofessional and uncalled for.

This week saw Scott Brown (R-MA) win Ted Kennedy’s old seat in Massachusetts, the bankruptcy of Air America and the evisceration of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation. These three represent a major challenge to the Democrats going forward.

Senator-elect Scott Brown becomes the 41st vote and prevents the Democrats from having unlimited power in the Senate. They will need to negotiate with Republicans and make some concessions to get legislation moved through or they could face a filibuster. This reality and the fact that the voters spoke loudly and clearly has already stymied the Democrat’s efforts at ramming health care reform through Congress and on Americans.

Air America has always been a joke of a radio network. It tried to produce a counter-point to conservative talk radio and the Fox News network which many perceive as conservative. (I think Fox News is fair and balanced.) Air America failed to garner listeners and was built on the premise that there was a need for such a network. Everyone with a quarter of a brain knows that there is no need for such a network when you have MSNBC, CNBC and the “broadcast” networks constantly drinking the Obama Kool-Aid and praising his every move. If Obama farts, MSNBC will broadcast that our visionary commander-in-chief has developed a new fragrance that will make a better world and spread peace and tranquility worldwide. (This would be funny if it were not true.)

The third item that has Democrats worried is that the Supreme Court decided that McCain-Feingold and other measures restrict freedom of speech. They decided in a 5-4 vote that corporations, unions and other entities should be allowed to spend as much as they want on political ads and campaigns. Democrats know that since they are so anti-capitalist, they will not get the majority of this spending. Chances are that Republicans will benefit hugely from this. If you look at what has happened to the stock market since Obama pledged to go after the banks, you can understand why business will not favor the Democrats.

Personally, I am happiest about the first two items. Scott Brown winning in Massachusetts is a great thing. He seems like a genuine person who may have a great future ahead of him. Air America was always a wacky network. They had comedian and now Senator Al Franken (D-MN) on the air for a while. Doesn’t that say it all?

I always considered campaign finance reform to be a good thing. I have never been one to believe that a government seat should be purchased by any special interest group or corporation. Then again, I am also not fond of groups like ACORN that skirt our laws. Perhaps unlimited spending will offset the registration of “Mickey Mouse” as a voter. One can only hope.

The fact is that Democrats have had a bad week. One that they will surely not forget soon.

President Obama said today, “The Senate certainly shouldn’t try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated. People in Massachusetts spoke. He’s got to be part of the process.” I cannot imagine him saying that yesterday when he was still working on secret deals and arm twisting to jam through the health care reform. It seems that the significance of Senator Brown’s victory has finally sunk in—even at the highest level.

Obama also suggested that the reason Brown won was that people are angry and that it was the same sentiment that got him elected to the Presidency. He believes that the anger and frustration is “not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.” This is classic Obama still blaming George W. Bush. His statement forces me to quote Reagan one more time today, “There he goes again.”
