Democrats SUCK!

In the Hans Christian Andersen story called, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” there is an emperor who is swindled by two tailors. They tell the emperor that they have made the most amazing clothes for him. These clothes are so amazing that they can only be seen by people who are not stupid or incompetent. The emperor loves the idea, but is immediately shocked when he looks in the mirror and does not see any clothes. Rather than admit that he must be stupid or incompetent, or worse, that he has been taken by the swindlers, he parades about naked until a brash young kid says, “He hasn’t got any clothes on!”

The story reminds me of President Obama. He struts about as if he were the most awe inspiring president that the country has ever had. He declines to listen to the wishes of the people and does so with so much insolence that he has prompted movements like the “Tea Party.”

Like the emperor of the story, he has been taken by a pair of swindlers who have sold him a health care reform bill that is unconstitutional at best. The two swindlers are Speaker of the House Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Reid is on his way to defeat and political obscurity in 2010—much like Senate Majority leader Dashle (D-SD) in 2004. (What is it about these Democrat leaders that they cannot hold onto their seats? Could it be arrogance?) Pelosi is safe in her liberal district, but could lose her position if Republicans gain a majority or enough momentum in 2010 that remaining Democrats realize that they need new leadership. We’ll see.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with President Obama until 2012. I hope that someone feisty will come along and tell him, “The emperor has no clothes.” It would have to be someone close to him who he trusts. Reverend Jeremiah Wright or Bill Ayers can you help us out? We need Obama to realize his dissonance with the wishes of the American people.
