Obama’s “Negro Dialect” – Reid
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid (NV) apologized today for some racist statements he made during the 2008 elections. He is quoted in a new book as saying that Barack Obama could win the presidency because he was “light-skinned” and did not use a “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”
Although Reid apologized to President Obama, who gracefully accepted the apology, this incident shows the double standard that liberals have. If a Democrat says something that is rascist and harkens back to the 50s, it is alright. If a Republican says something that is offensive in even a minor way they immediately call for a resignation.
President Obama said of the incident, “I accepted Harry’s apology without question because I’ve known him for years, I’ve seen the passionate leadership he’s shown on issues of social justice, and I know what’s in his heart.” Maybe he should have instead used it as an opportunity to discuss the fact that further progress needs to be made. He should also have called for Reid’s resignation.

this is another perfect example of the double standards that democrats allow to take place. the incident in itself is a democratic double standard but obama goes a step further with his explanation and verbally says its ok when he accepts the apology. with that he is saying its ok for reid to say that because they are friends. what if a republican that wasn’t obama’s friend said it???????????
