Mendacity of “Pass-Anything” Democrats
The Democrat party is determined to pass anything they can call health care reform this year without regard to whether it improves conditions for the uninsured or helps doctors and hospitals. The current idea of the minute is to expand the bankrupt Medicare system to include more people. Sounds like a plan to me. Why don’t we get ex-Enron executives or Bernie Madoff to administer this expansion? They just may make it work for a while and convince a few doctors not to close up shop.
It has become political farce to see Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) behaving like he is trying to cure world hunger or stop all disease when in reality he is trying to put on a good show and deliver nothing to the American public. We deserve better. Just a week ago, he declared on the Senate floor that 14,000 people lose their health insurance every day and that “the American people don’t get weekends off from this injustice.” He said that the Senate would work all weekends until a bill was passed. Then this week, he declares that the Senate should have the weekend off. The reason was that he had a $1,000 plus per plate fundraiser in New Orleans tomorrow that he has now been shamed into cancelling.
That is disgraceful. It is also the reason that Reid is behind 10 percentage points in his own state. Let’s hope that the good people of Nevada see him for what he is and vote him out next year. We need real leadership in Washington.

No matter how many $1000 per plate fundraisers Harry Reid goes to, he is on his way out. Nevada’s economy has plummeted to become one of the worst in the country. The voters will not forget that when they go to the polls. He must not be “reading” the headlines lately on his numbers.
